A few days ago Skye and Jeremiah finished up their very first course at the Koinonia Institute, an online Bible training program that, in their own words, is “focused on verse-by-verse study where serious Christians can grow in knowledge, understanding, awareness and commitment! Here at Kl, we delve into the relevance and reliability of Scripture, and help you focus on discovering God’s call on your life.”
I have been enrolled as a post-doc student at KI since 2019, and I’ve been mentoring approximately ten classes as a Student Assistant as I work my way through their three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
The mission is to: train and equip the serious Christian for ministry in today’s world. It was the desire of Dr. Chuck Missler and all those at the Koinonia Institute today to prepare individuals for practical ministry in whatever area God is calling them. Their program is specifically designed to bring an individual from wherever they are to a place of full-time, part-time, vocational, or avocational ministry or service in the church and/or on behalf of the church toward the greater community of the lost.
It was through Koinonia Institute that God began to really work with me on writing and research as a possible ministry, which is our main aim in developing in the future. It is my conviction that our children need to be prepared for the world in front of them, whatever that may entail, and I see no better method of education than one steeped and grounded firmly in that of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ the chief cornerstone.
Our kids now begin a journey that will take them several years to complete. First they will start slowly with online, asynchronous classes. As they grow older and more mature, they will take on the responsibility of being a Student Assistant (if accepted) and then will also begin their practicums (service programs for the church or the community for Christ). As they progress through the courses and practicums, they will begin to focus and explore what it is they might discern God calling them to do with their life, their vocation, and their service to the body of Christ and to the world.
They have now successfully taken their first step in this momentous journey. I say this: whatever it is God has predestined for our children to walk in with their lives, because they were given us as parents, by the time they turn 18, they will be better trained in the Word of God, Theology, and Christian Philosophy than most graduating seminarians.
May God’s will be done in their lives……
