Feral Kids Academy

My first BJJ tournament was in Salem, Oregon, on May 16, 2025. It was super fun; I got a gold medal in no gi and a silver medal in gi. It was great going against people I hadn’t faced before. My BJJ coach, David Sigler, helped me avoid losing by submission at the tournament.

I went because I wanted to go against new people and because my instructor asked me to go to it. I wanted to see what a tournament would be like. It was weird because it was different than training at my BJJ school.

What is a BJJ tournament? It is a tournament where different people from different BJJ schools go compete to test their skills. this BJJ tournament was a Sub-league open which happened in Salem, at the Oregon expo center.

I really had fun at this tournament. I learned that BJJ tournaments are different than training BJJ. This was a great experience and I can’t wait to go to the next tournament. It was great to get to watch my brother and other people fight.
