This month I read the book Outside.  The author is Jennifer L. Holm. And the genre of the book is adventure. The book is mainly about a girl who wants to escape the four walls that She is trapped in. she is the oldest of the children so she also has to help keep everyone together.

The main problem in the book is that the adults in the dome are keeping secrets about the outside from the children, and the kids think it is dangerous out side. The dome is like a big house, as it can fit four family’s inside  and it has a big outside yard. In the story she is in the dome with all of the other kids. The book takes place in 2100. We don’t know what season it is because they are cut off from the outside world. Razzi learned that the adults were lying to them and the air was normal. Now she does not trust the adults.

The main character in the book is twelve year old Razzi.  Razzi’s brother is bing. And Bing is an attention seeking kid and Razzi is smart and kind. My favorite character is Razzi  because she is the one that escapes the building. Razzi is like the kid’s leader. They made the kids stay in the house because they thought that the war made the air poisoned but that was not true.

In the book they start by living in a dome and at the end they found Razzi’s mom. In the middle of the book they find out that one of the kids needs medical attention and give her a heart transplant. The transplant is so important because they don’t want one of the kids to get scared or die. At the end of the story she finds her mom. Razzi broke one of the walls and found out it was normal outside. After that they told the other kids and she snuck out and found her mom.

I think the book was not that bad. I liked it because it is really entertaining and adventurous. Like when they saw the delivery driver and wondered how he was alive. Thats when they mad a plan. I would recommend this book to kids who are interested in mystery. And thirteen or fourteen year old’s would like the book.
